void relics
Void relics are a key system in warframe that allows you to get prime warframes and weapons: usually the rarest, most exclusive, and most powerful items in the game. You'll unlock this system after completing the mars junction.
Void relics refer to consumable items that have specific prime loot associated with them. Prime loot simply refers to enhanced versions of normal weapons and warframes. These prime versions will come with enhanced stats, altered visuals, and unique effects.

By selecting a relic, you'll be able to see what loot comes from opening it. There are common drops, standard drops, and rare drops associated with each relic, and upon opening the relic, you'll randomly receive one of these listed items.

You can enhance these relics to improve your chances of obtaining the rare loot from that specific relic. Enhancing relics costs a currency that is only used in the void relic system called “VOID TRACES”. There are 3 tiers of enhancement for a relic, and each further tier costs more void traces to complete the action.

Void Traces are earned by participating in the “VOID FISSURES” activity. Void Fissures are the actual activity that allows you to redeem your relics for prime loot. You can access this activity in navigation under this menu

These are normal mission types that exist elsewhere in the game, but are slightly altered by void corruption. This means that there will be corrupted versions of normal enemies, but the missions are otherwise the same. You’ll notice that these missions are divided into 4 categories:

Lith
Meso
Neo
Axi

Each of these categories' names represents what relics you are allowed to open by playing the mission. For example:
The Lith X1 relic can only be opened in a Lith mission
The Meso G9 relic can only be opened in a Meso mission
The Neo K3 relic can only be opened in a neo mission
The Axi L2 relic can only be opened in an Axi mission
This applies to all relics, not just the ones listed above. So if a relic is in the Meso category, it will contain the word Meso in the name, and can only be used in a Meso category mission and so on.
The below tutorial applies to all mission types and relic categories, not just what is shown below.

Here, you can choose which relic you’d like to redeem for this mission. This determines the loot you will receive at the end of the mission. Select the relic you want, then select equip for mission and it will automatically start

In order to receive the void relic loot at the end of the mission, you'll need to pick up TEN reactant within the mission. These reactant will randomly drop from enemies and it should be your number one priority to pick up all reactant that drops. They will be marked on your UI with a large icon

Upon picking up TEN reactant and completing the mission, you'll randomly receive ONE of the pieces of prime loot that is contained with the relic you equipped for this mission automatically! If you are in multiplayer with other players, you will still only receive a single piece of prime loot, however, you can choose if you want to receive loot from your own relic, or choose to receive loot from one of your teammates’ relics. To clarify: You still only receive a SINGLE piece of loot, and you do not steal loot from anyone else by choosing to receive theirs.

On mission completion, the relic you chose at the beginning of the mission will be consumed and removed from your inventory, you'll receive a chosen piece of prime loot, and void traces to enhance other relics!
This is a lot, I know, but as with anything else, you will understand it after completing a few void fissure missions.
